This role focuses on dimensional modeling, query performance, and enabling self-service analytics for engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders.Responsibilities• Design and maintain OLAP data models and dashboards (Loki / Tempo / Mimir) schemas, cubes, semantic layers)• Optimize analytical queries for low latency and high concurrency• Partner with ETL and data ingestion teams to ensure analytics-ready datasets• Build and maintain materialized views, aggregates, and rollups• Support BI, observability, and AI teams with performant analytical datasets• Implement data quality checks and consistency validation• Tune databases for cost, performance, and scalability• Contribute to analytics standards, naming conventions, and documentationQualificationsRequired Qualifications• 5+ years of experience in analytical data engineering or BI platforms• Strong experience with OLAP databases or analytical engines (e.g., Mimir, ClickHouse, BigQuery, TimeScale)• Deep understanding of dimensional data modeling• Strong SQL skills and query optimization expertise• Experience supporting dashboards, reporting, or analytics workloads• Experience working within an Agile or SAFE Agile work modelPreferred Qualifications• Experience with time-series or observability data• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Grafana, Tableau, Power BI)• Exposure to AI/ML feature stores or analytics for AI pipelines• Experience in cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)At Optimum, we're fueled by our four core pillars: Taking Ownership, Upholding Transparency, Creating Community, and Demonstrating Expertise.
