This internship is a fantastic opportunity to get deep into fixed asset accounting—from tracking physical equipment on the plant floor to building the documentation that keeps our records accurate and audit-ready.No prior professional accounting experience required—just curiosity, drive, and a foundational understanding of accounting principles from your coursework.| WHAT YOU GET TO DO:You’ll Be Embedded With The Plant Accounting Team Working On Real Projects Alongside Experienced Accountants. Here’s What Your Internship Will Look LikeFixed Asset Register & AccountingHelp maintain and update the fixed asset register, including acquisitions, transfers, and disposalsAssist with recording depreciation and learn how impairment is evaluated under ASC 360Support the Corporate Fixed Asset Accounting team on cross-functional reporting tasksAsset Tagging & Physical AuditsParticipate in hands-on asset tagging of manufacturing equipment on the plant floorAssist with periodic physical audits to verify asset locations and condition against the registerHelp investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system recordsLearn and apply company asset tagging policies and procedures to ensure complianceProcess DocumentationDraft and refine step-by-step process documentation for fixed asset tagging workflowsCreate clear, audit-ready procedures for asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposalsMap current-state processes and identify gaps or inconsistencies in existing documentationBuild reusable templates and checklists that the team can use beyond the internshipCollaborate with senior accountants to capture institutional knowledge in written formGeneral Accounting & AnalysisAssist with journal entries and month-end close activities related to fixed assetsWork with the Financial Planning & Analysis team on budgeting and forecasting tasksSupport projects related to preparing Slate for public company reporting requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency in plant accounting processesInternship Capstone: Leadership PresentationYour Internship Culminates In a Final Presentation To Slate’s Finance And Plant Accounting Leadership.
