Mechanics at this location will maintain a fleet that is approximately 99% gasoline-powered, consisting primarily of UPS delivery vehicles. The mechanic must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes occasionally, electrical systems, and engine control.Automotive Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location's need.Responsibilities and DutiesMeets D.O.T requirements required by jobassignment.Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivotsfrequentlythroughout the duration of theworkday.Sits infrequently, asrequired, throughout the duration of theworkday.Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assignedtasks.Operates standard and manualtransmissions.Operates power and pneumatictools.Meets all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified.Knowledge and SkillsAutomotive mechanical experience3 -year experience minimum.REQUIRED.Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personalcomputer.Possesses a full complement of personal handtools-REQUIREDCommercial Driver's License (CDL) -REQUIREDWorks full-time shifts: 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per 7-dayweek.Dependable with the ability to report to work on a regular andtimelybasis and complete scheduled workday consistentlyAvailable to work varying shifts,additionalhours, and/or overtime depending on serviceneeds.Wears personal protective equipment asrequired.Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment.Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks andmaintainproper job safetyconditions.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position is $39.31 per hourwith a top rate of $46.25 per hour reached within one year.
