The suitable candidate will supervise quality inspectors and manage the quality department in our track works manufacturing facility. Candidate must be able to work with various departments to ensure products and procedures are in compliance with industry specifications and customer requirements. Must be proficient with computers and have a working knowledge of spreadsheets, database, statistics and word processing. At Progress Rail, the team is not just building the future of rail-they are making history every day.Education / Training• College degree in a technical discipline is preferred; however a proven record in a production quality program is acceptable.Job TitleQuality Assurance ManagerCityShermanKey Job Elements• Interpret customer requirements and specifications and revise or design new procedures to ensure compliance;• Audit established procedures and quality systems to ensure compliance;• Supervise the Quality department personnel and provide guidance and feedback to improve performance;• Implement and maintain a Continuous Improvement program;• Assist customer and 3rd party auditors and inspectors;• Maintain an inspection program to ensure product complies with requirements;• Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis;• Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives and department heads.Qualifications and Experience• Proven experience as quality manager in an ISO certified company;• Extensive manufacturing and production processes and principles;• Some travel and outside work may be required;• Detail oriented with good communication, organizational and leadership skills;• Proficient in MS Office, Statistics software and databases;• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, data visualization);• Excellent Communication skills;• Extensive experience working with internal and external customers.• In depth understanding of quality control procedures, inspection practices and audits;• Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, M-1003;• AIAG Core Tools: Proficient in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC;• Root cause analysis: 8D, DMAIC, Ishikawa, Pareto Analysis;• Project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello);• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt;• Experience in leading Continuous Improvement Process (Teams).EEOProgress Rail is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
