Software Engineer

Brighterway is a VC-backed startup (Y Combinator S24) building AI-powered medical record review tools for the workers’ compensation ecosystem. We process 10M+ pages of medical records per month and are growing rapidly across national claims organizations.We're hiring a full-stack generalist who loves building fast. Someone who can take ambiguous customer problems, propose a solution, and ship a working prototype in days.This role is perfect for someone who enjoys founder-style autonomy, talking to customers, and owning features end-to-end. You’ll work directly with the CEO and CTO to define, build, and iterate on high-impact product lines.What You’ll DoJoin live calls with founders, clients, and partners to understand needs in real time.Build 0→1 prototypes, workflows, integrations, and internal tools extremely quickly.Own full-stack development across backend, APIs, data pipelines, and lightweight UIs.Debug production issues, unblock product teams, and ensure delivery to key clients.Collaborate across ML, FE, and operations to ship experiments and new product lines.Create scaffolding that the rest of the engineering team can harden later.What We’re Looking ForStrong full-stack experience (Python, Node, etc.)Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end features independentlyBias toward action: prototype first, perfect laterStrong debugging + problem-solving skillsComfort talking to customers, founders, and non-technical stakeholdersStartup DNA: scrappy, adaptable, and solutions-focusedNice to HaveExperience in health tech, ML tooling, document processing, or claims systemsExperience with AWS, GCP, or cloud infraPrior early-stage startup experience or founding experienceWhy BrighterwayWork directly with founders on high-impact product linesShip fast and see your work used by national claims organizationsCompetitive salary + meaningful equityFast-moving, execution-oriented environment
