Staff Agronomist
OBJECTIVE:
Provide guidance, technical expertise, and agronomic knowledge to a team of consultants in given territory. Provide leadership in areas of training, sales, and implementation of crop consulting program. Promote the Crop-Trak program to location, general, and sales staff as well as customers in given territory. Assist agronomy staff with training, complaint calls, and providing agronomic assistance to locations. Help in acquisition and placement of crop consulting talent. Scout and consult on enrolled acres to assist consultant team. Create synergy between crop consultants, precision personnel, location managers and sales staff. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policy. This position will cover a territory across Northern Missouri.
OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT YOU:
Evaluation of recruiting and hiring of crop consultants and interns within the district
Evaluation of crop consultant and intern development
Timely and accurate completion of budgets, asset allocations, expense reports, and other HR tasks
Evaluation of teamwork with other department agronomists and retail sales efforts in seed, crop protection, plant foods, and general agronomic support of retail locations
Crop Protection sales, Plant Foods tons, Corn Seed sales, Soybean Seed Salessubject to alignment with regional goals
Participate in company-wide training and evaluate new technology and data solutions for possible implementation and fit with company initiatives
Monthly Crop-Trak (Nutri-Track) sales and opportunity reports from software platforms, accompanied by relative dates, deadlines, and other pertinent information
Periodic updates at morning huddles, including key processes, events, programs, and requested technical advice
Attendance and participation at sales meetings and post-meeting planning sessions
Identify and promptly report software related issues to Precision Agronomy and Retail Fleet Data Manager
Coordinate with Research Agronomist on placement of large-scale trials, monitoring and data collection.
Provide weekly update on replicated seed plot monitoring
