You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:Working knowledge of DU and LP automated underwriting systems and validation of input data to assure valid responses.Utilize expertise and underwriting knowledge to render sound, common sense decisions based on analysis of loan parameters and documentation.Perform detailed appraisal reviews.Decision loans within assigned approval authority as determined by Elements Executive Management.Meet all established turn time requirements. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products and services including FHA, VA, USDA, and Conforming and Portfolio loans.Analyze credit documents, including but not limited to, mortgage applications, credit history and income documents, title documents, appraisals, and all applicable compliance documents.Possess authority and ability to underwrite all loan types: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VAH, and USDA.You will make a difference as you live out our purpose: Assist the Sales Team on deal structuring, guidelines, questions, and scenarios as required.Provide mentoring/coaching to the Processing Team to ensure conditions are met prior to final approval.Decision loans within assigned approval authority as determined by Elements Executive Management.Underwrite for home equity loan products, subordination, and modification requests.Provide timely responses to all voicemail and email communications.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. You will help grow the business:Analyze the risk of a loan transaction and provide justification and compensating factors to support loan decision.Cross-sell additional lending products as appropriate.You will continue to grow professionally:Continue to develop knowledge of industry practices, products, and professional growth.Participate in appropriate learning opportunities to maintain expertise.Minimum Requirements:Must possess a bachelor's degree or five years of recent underwriting experience including FHA DE/CHUMS or VA SAR designations.Seven years' experience underwriting conventional loans may be substituted for government loan experience requirement. Must be familiar with all investor guidelines and experience with DU, LP, and GUS underwriting systems.Must possess a thorough knowledge of products, appraisals, tax returns, disclosure and compliance rules and regulations.NMLS Licensing as required.Strong collaboration and communication (oral and written) skills.Ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to invest in our community.
