TAX ACCOUNTANT

Position Purpose Ensure the accurate preparation, review, and filing of accounting, tax, and financial information for the assigned entities, guaranteeing full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable U.S. federal and state tax regulations. This role ensures proper alignment between financial accounting and tax reporting while providing strong technical expertise, quality control, continuous improvement, and strategic support to the business. Key Responsibilities Oversee and execute the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure of transactions in accordance with IFRS. Prepare and review standalone IFRS financial statements, including full disclosures and footnotes. Draft technical accounting memoranda to support complex transactions and address external audit requirements. Review intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, traceability, and consistency. Analyze and document significant accounting judgments and estimates (IAS 1), including: Asset impairment (IAS 36) Financial instruments (IFRS 9) Leases (IFRS 16) Revenue recognition (IFRS 15) Employee benefits (IAS 19) Income taxes (IAS 12) Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements. Prepare and review federal and state income tax calculations, including current and deferred taxes, in accordance with U.S. tax law and IAS 12. Analyze book-to-tax differences (temporary and permanent) and prepare tax reconciliations. Support the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns (e.g., Form 1120 and relevant state filings). Manage compliance with indirect taxes such as sales and use tax, where applicable. Support tax provision processes, including quarterly and year‑end reporting. Monitor changes in U.S. tax legislation and assess their accounting and financial impact. Respond to IRS and state tax authority notices, audits, and information requests, preparing appropriate documentation and support. Assist in tax planning initiatives, identifying tax‑efficient strategies while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and alignment with financial reporting requirements. Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA o EA certification (or in progress) is strongly preferred. Additional coursework or certification in IFRS is a plus. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of IFRS (U.S. GAAP knowledge is a plus). U.S. tax regulations (federal and state income tax, sales & use tax). Deferred tax accounting (IAS 12 / ASC 740 is a plus). Financial statement preparation and reporting. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
