Job Title: Construction Materials Technician / Special InspectorJob DescriptionAn emerging engineering firm in the NC marketplace is seeking dedicated Civil Engineers, Geotechnical, and Construction Services professionals to join the team as Engineering Technicians/Field Technicians. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the triad market, contribute to building the company's reputation, and advance your career.Responsibilities+ Visit job sites and construction sites to gather samples of various soils and concrete.+ Conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt.+ Test materials in the field or gather them for testing back at the office or laboratory.+ Perform soil inspections, concrete inspections, masonry inspections, and asphalt inspections.Essential Skills+ ACI certification is preferred.+ High attention to detail.+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.+ Ability to read and write reports.+ Ability to work independently.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Willingness to submit to an MVR test (company vehicle provided).+ Previous experience in labor or field roles such as landscaping, farming, construction labor, or field service work.+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Work EnvironmentInitially, you will accompany a team member to job sites until you become familiar with the role. You will then be provided with a company truck to drive to assigned job sites. The work primarily involves outdoor activities and traveling to various construction sites that are at the starting stages of their building process.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
