This role is responsible for performing standardized and specialized tests on textile materials and finished products to assess quality, performance, and compliance with client and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and labeling samples, setting up and operating textile testing instruments, recording and analyzing test data, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The technician will calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, follow established test methods and safety procedures, and assist in troubleshooting test issues or anomalies. Collaboration with engineers, technologists, and other lab staff is expected to ensure accurate results, continuous process improvement, and responsive support for client testing needs.Qualifications Demonstrated laboratory skills, including sample preparation, test execution, and accurate data recording.Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, including setup, operation, calibration, and routine maintenance.Strong quality control focus, with the ability to follow standard methods, identify deviations, and support corrective actions.Well-developed analytical skills, including basic data analysis, interpretation of test results, and clear documentation.Experience working as part of a laboratory technician team or in a similar technical testing environment.Familiarity with textile testing standards (e.g., ASTM, AATCC) is preferred.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tests and deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting results and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move test materials as needed, and follow all safety and PPE requirements.Associate’s degree or technical diploma in textiles, materials science, chemistry, engineering technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
