In this role, you will lead a range of activities related to dynamic and transient power system modeling, power system studies, and compliance with interconnection requirements for wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. Responsibilities include managing dynamic simulation models and associated documentation, implementing interconnection and grid code requirements into plant designs, collaborating closely with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and external consultants, and leading power system studies to support ENGIE's North America Renewables portfolio throughout the project lifecycle.What You Will DoLead the development, maintenance, and validation of dynamic simulation models (PSCAD, PSSE, TSAT) for ENGIE assets in collaboration with OEMs and external consultantsManage and oversee power system studies required for interconnection compliance, including supporting the implementation of study outcomes in the fieldServe as a Grid Integration Subject Matter Expert within the Engineering organization, providing guidance on voltage and frequency ride-through, reactive power capability, IBR unit behavior, and plant-level controlsDevelop and implement new or improved internal standards and processes to ensure wind, solar, and BESS projects conform to evolving interconnection and grid code requirementsTrack and interpret changes to NERC standards, ISO/RTO and transmission planner requirements, AGIR rules, and key industry standards such as IEEE 2800-2022 and P2800.2Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring on-time delivery while meeting quality, technical, and budget objectivesWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in Engineering (Power, Energy, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Systems Engineering) or related discipline requiredCandidates must also have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including at least three (3) years of experience supporting NERC Reliability StandardsDemonstrated experience leading dynamic simulation modeling (PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT) for wind, solar, and BESS assets, in collaboration with consultants and OEMsStrong capability managing power system and interconnection studies, including implementing study outcomes to support field execution and complianceRecognized Subject Matter Expertise in Grid Integration, providing technical guidance on voltage and frequency ride-through, reactive power capability, and IBR unit and plant controlsProven ability to develop, implement, and improve internal engineering standards and processes to ensure conformance with interconnection and reliability requirementsWorking knowledge of NERC, ISO/RTO, Transmission Planner, and AGIR requirements, including emerging industry standards such as IEEE 2800-2022 and P2800.2Strong project ownership skills, with a track record of delivering assigned work on time, within budget, and to quality standardsAdditional DetailsThis role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy and is not eligible for remote workMust be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips. Additionally, a valid passport or ability to obtain one for international travel when requiredMust possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record; for the ability to drive to site locations when neededMust be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policiesCompensationSalary Range: $117,300 - $179,860 USD annuallyThis represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
