A hospital in Syracuse is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum call coverage assignment while the facility builds its long-term orthopedic team. Position: Physician Orthopedic Surgery Location: Syracuse Position Type: Locum What makes this opportunity exciting • Inpatient call and OR coverage in a well-supported hospital setting• Join a practice of 5 orthopedic physicians with collaborative coverage• Manage 4 10 hospital patients per day on average• Work in a 100% adult and inpatient orthopedic practice• Access to onsite laboratory and X-ray services• Opportunity to support a hospital building and expanding its orthopedic team EMR System: Epic Schedule & Coverage Coverage Dates: May 1, 2026 September 1, 2026 Average Hospital / Call Patients per Day: 4 10 Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately days Other orthopedic physicians will also provide coverage during the locum period Clinical Scope Orthopedic surgeons will provide care for a wide range of musculoskeletal and joint conditions, including:• Joint conditions: arthritis, bursitis, ligament tears, joint pain and inflammation• Foot & ankle: fractures, heel pain, deformities• Shoulder: rotator cuff tears, labral injuries, impingement syndrome, fractures, dislocations• Bone conditions: fractures, infections, deformities• Hand & wrist: fractures, arthritis, tendon injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome• Elbow: fractures, arthritis, ligament injuries, dislocations• Knee: ligament tears (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL), meniscus injuries, patella dislocation, fractures Candidate Requirements Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery REQUIRED Active New York Medical License REQUIRED BLS and ACLS certifications REQUIRED Self-Query NPDB report required at submission (same month) Clean malpractice history preferred Why Syracuse, NY?
