CNC Press Brake Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY As the Press Brake Team Lead, you will be at the forefront of our forming department's daily activities. This role requires hands-on expertise in operating and setting up press brakes and related equipment, coupled with the ability to guide and mentor press brake operators. Your primary focus will be ensuring operational safety, maintaining high-quality output, and meeting production targets. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the selection process of new team members. Provide training and onboarding for new employees joining the team. Evaluate employee performance through regular reviews, including 30/60/90-day and annual assessments. Offer continuous coaching, feedback, and opportunities for skill enhancement. Track attendance and performance, addressing issues as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operate, set up, and safely shut down press brakes and other forming equipment, including shear, spot welder, PEM insert machines, and rollers. Maintain and properly use required inspection tools and basic hand tools. Mentor and support operators, promoting proper machine operation and adherence to quality standards. Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime. Interpret blueprints and resolve complex forming challenges. Attend daily and periodic production meetings to maintain alignment with departmental goals. Keep accurate records of performance and disciplinary actions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED is essential. A minimum of three to five years of experience in press brake or metal forming is required. Forklift certification is required, or the ability to obtain it shortly after hiring. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Demonstrated proficiency in using measuring tools, including tape measures and calipers. Comprehensive knowledge of press brake and forming equipment operation. Ability to interpret technical blueprints and machine interfaces effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Capability to safely operate a forklift, contributing to a safe work environment.
