API Quality Engineer

Location: RemoteRole and Responsibilities:As an API Quality Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in the Banking Solutions business, contributing to the company’s digital transformation and driving innovation in the competitive digital banking landscape. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and performance of APIs across various frameworks while integrating quality assurance best practices into the development workflow.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, planning, and execution of quality assurance strategies for API testing across various frameworks (Spring, Node, etc.).Develop and execute functional, non-functional, regression, and performance test plans for APIs.Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks using tools such as Selenium, TestRail, or similar for comprehensive regression testing.Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.Conduct performance and load testing to optimize API scalability and performance.Collaborate with security teams to ensure API security, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.Identify, track, and resolve defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla), ensuring timely resolution.Evaluate API usability and accessibility through user feedback analysis and A/B testing.Generate test reports and dashboards, highlighting testing insights, risks, and recommendations for stakeholders.Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and designers to ensure quality is prioritized throughout the product lifecycle.Professional Qualifications:Experience in API testing, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.Proficiency in API testing frameworks like Rest Assured, mocha/chai, and tools like Postman.Hands-on experience with automated test scripting using languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and collaboration with DevOps teams for seamless integration.Strong understanding of API development frameworks and architectures.Ability to troubleshoot API performance issues and debug logs effectively.Knowledge of agile testing methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban.Experience with test documentation and defect tracking using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, and TestRail.Strong communication skills to articulate findings and collaborate with teams.Personal Characteristics:Strong ownership mindset, focused on driving engineering and product outcomes.Action-oriented self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.Outstanding communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.Demonstrates flexibility, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.Ability to build strong credibility with internal and external stakeholders.Committed to continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
