Inventory Control Clerk - ANorth Chicago, ILShift :11:00 AM - 7:30 PMPay: $20.85 per hour26-04867Job SummaryThe Inventory Control and Order Processing Coordinator supports distribution and warehouse operations by maintaining inventory accuracy, resolving order processing issues, monitoring system activity, and supporting customer service functions. This role works across multiple inventory and warehouse management systems to investigate discrepancies, process inventory transactions, and ensure timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.Job ResponsibilitiesAudit inventory across warehouse and inventory management systems to maintain inventory accuracy and system balanceInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified during daily order processing activitiesProcess rejected, expired, short-dated, quarantined, reworked, or destroyed materials in accordance with quality proceduresResolve orders placed on hold due to inventory or system issuesCancel or modify orders as requested and ensure accurate documentation of changesMonitor system error logs and troubleshoot issues within warehouse and inventory systemsNotify appropriate personnel regarding unresolved inventory or system-related concernsCompile, analyze, and report key operational and distribution performance metricsSupport distribution, receiving, and warehouse operations during peak demand periodsAssist in employee training activities and operational support functionsManage customer order queues and release deliveries to meet shipping expectationsProvide inbound and outbound customer support calls regarding order and inventory informationUtilize databases and multiple computer systems to retrieve and update customer and operational informationMaintain compliance with quality systems and operational proceduresWork effectively across multiple operating systems and warehouse platformsSupport operations across multiple facility locations as requiredPerform additional duties as assignedJob RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED required; additional logistics, supply chain, or business coursework preferredPrevious experience in inventory control, distribution, warehousing, logistics, or customer support preferredStrong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate recordsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and OutlookAbility to work with multiple computer systems and operating environmentsKnowledge of warehouse, shipping, transportation, logistics, and planning workflows preferredAbility to interpret operational metrics and tracking reportsStrong customer service skills including patience, tact, empathy, and professionalismAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentAbility to work overtime as requiredAbility to work in cold storage or freezer environments at temperatures of -20°C or colderWork ExperienceExperience with inventory management, order processing, warehouse systems, or logistics operations preferredExperience using ERP or warehouse management systems such as SAP, Manhattan, or related systems preferredExperience supporting quality systems and distribution operations preferred
