On Hold - Reviewing Submitted Candidates - ON HOLD - 12.05.2025 Seeking Skilled NP for ER & Med/Surg Coverage We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with Emergency Medicine expertise to join MercyOne Elkader Medical Center on a locum basis. This role provides the opportunity to deliver critical care in both the Emergency Department and Med/Surg units, supported by a collaborative healthcare team. Responsibilities Serve as the sole provider in the ED and Med/Surg units Deliver emergency and inpatient care Collaborate with 2 physicians and 1 advanced practice provider Work alongside 2 RNs, 1 paramedic, and occasionally CNAs/NPNs Document patient care in EPIC EMR Perform emergency and skilled care procedures Schedule Coverage on select dates December 2025 ??? May 2026 Shifts typically 7 AM???7 PM or 7 PM???7 AM, including nights and weekends Requirements Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (Required) Active Iowa License (Required) DEA and CSR certifications (Required) Facility Details Average ER volume: 3???4 patients/day Average Med/Surg census: ~1???2 patients/day Equipped with medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services Each provider has access to 2 exam rooms Temporary privileges available; emergency privileges not offered.
