Pool Care Technician

Job Summary The Pool Care Technician role is a position of general maintenance and upkeep of residential swimming pools. They maintain certain standards of water quality by adding chemicals such as chlorine, iodine, and hydrochloric acid to the water. The technicians are assigned a route each week and are expected to provide a premium service to each pool and spa. The associated duties are cleaning pools through brushing and vacuuming, responding to water hygiene incidents, cleaning filters, performing water cleaning, running tests, servicing pool systems, and reporting water quality to managers. In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and service of pools on a specific route. Duties/Responsibilities Complete weekly maintenance routes in a timely matter per assigned schedule. Clean and maintain pools/spas to the standard and training expectations set Shasta Pools. Inspect and perform cleaning tasks daily to ensure all pools and spas are clear in appearance. Including vacuuming, skimming, cleaning water and pool tiles, all interior surface finishes, and clean skimmer baskets. Complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies. Conduct regular inspections of pool facilities, equipment, and safety features to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs. Drives Company vehicle to locations while safeguarding equipment and supplies in the vehicles. Notifies Shasta and/or customers of any damaged equipment that needs to be addressed/replaced. Document notes via iPad service provided and any other issues regarding the service that needs to be addressed. Services an average of 65-75 pools a week. Follow safety guidelines and procedures as outlined in company policies, state regulations, OSHA regulations, and OSHA standards. Maintain a clean Company Vehicle and adhere to the Shasta Safety Driving Policy. Follow company policies and procedures including safety, honesty, integrity, and treating others with respect. Maintain equipment, materials and supply inventory. General weekly service pool care: Skimming, brushing, testing chemistry and adding chemicals, equipment maintenance and inspection. Periodically empty pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces. Identify and report any needed repairs or service needs back to the general manager. Performs other duties as assigned by manager. Required Skills Be organized, have the ability to check email, and be able to effectively communicate with your supervisor daily. Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent schedule and workload. Excellent communication skills and customer service-oriented attitude to communicate with customers effectively and pleasantly. Attention to detail and ability to document customer information and customer logs. Ability to take instruction and adapt to new methods/systems when implemented. Must have the ability to communicate in English. Required Experience/Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 21 years of age or older. Able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and motor vehicle report. Must have valid driver’s license, 5 years verifiable driving history and clean driving record. Physical Requirements Must be capable of lifting 75lbs+ if/when necessary, & conditioned to endure extreme seasonal temperatures while walking, kneeling, climbing, frequently as you maneuver around the environments of the pools & spas. Due to the nature of our work performed for your safety you must be capable of swimming. Pre-employment drug screening and completion of a pre-employment background check are required as a condition of employment. - A prior conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed. You will be required to complete and submit a questionnaire. We will consider your age at the time of the offense, when the offense occurred, the seriousness and the nature of the offense, as well as any rehabilitation to determine your employability. Schedule Once established, our Pool Care Technician will be expected to consistently maintain a Service Route of approximately 60-80 pools per week. Company truck, uniform, tools, and equipment are all provided. Hours: Monday through Friday with a start time of 5:30am The service route is located in the Northwest Valley area.
