Chef Manager

Role Overview You will lead the kitchen in executing our culinary vision while helping shape its next phase. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for food quality, team development, and operational excellence. Core Responsibilities  1. Leadership, Administration & Operations Act as the operational leader of the kitchen, maintaining constant communication with Ownership and the management team Oversee opening/closing procedures and daily administrative functions Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained, functional, and respected as part of the craft Maintain full compliance with legal, health, and safety standards Complete end-of-day reporting when needed and proactively flag issues with solutions Communicate clearly and consistently across Slack, email, and in-person channels 2. Team Building & Development Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing culinary team Set clear expectations for standards, behavior, and growth Lead training that emphasizes technique, consistency, and hospitality mindset Provide ongoing feedback, mentorship, and performance reviews Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, and mutual respect 3. Food Safety, Health & Systems Maintain certifications and enforce all health and sanitation standards Ensure safe food handling, storage, and temperature control at all times Lead allergy awareness and kitchen-wide safety practices Create systems that make doing things  the right way   the default 4. Culinary Execution & Development Uphold excellence in food quality, consistency, and presentation Oversee purchasing, receiving, inventory, and cost controls Lead daily prep and service execution with precision and awareness Collaborate on menu development, bringing new ideas that align with our established identity Work closely with female owner on reopening, training, and ongoing culinary alignment Continuously refine systems to improve flow, reduce waste, and elevate the guest experience 5.
