*Job title:* Software Developer 2 *Location:* Austin, TX (*hybrid *— *must already live within ~50 miles*) *Job type:* Contract *Schedule:* 3 days onsite (Wed/Thu/Fri) + 2 days remote *Duration:* ~Nov 2, 2026 – Aug 31, 2027 (~1,500 hours) *About the role* Contract Software Developer 2 supporting a Texas state agency program in Austin. You’ll design, code, and maintain complex applications using Angular, C#, ASP.NET, and Oracle — including testing, debugging, and Agile delivery. *What you’ll do* * Design, code, and modify programs, stored procedures, classes, and scripts (Angular, C#, ASP.NET, Oracle) * Test assigned work (test data, scripts, debug, validate results) * Follow coding, documentation, and testing standards; participate in code reviews * Work in Agile/Scrum and partner with team members on delivery *Must-haves* * 7+ years programming, analysis, and development of complex business systems * 7+ years coding, testing, and debugging (new work and production support) * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Knowledge of architecture concepts, emerging tech, data integrity / security practices * Experience delivering with Agile or Scrum * *Must already live in the Austin area (within 50 miles).* No out-of-state candidates planning to relocate. *Nice-to-haves* * Familiarity with agency information architecture / info management methods * Familiarity with existing/planned software architecture and infrastructure *How to apply* Apply with your resume. *Local Austin candidates only.* Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Application Question(s): * Are you able to work onsite in Austin Wed, Thu, and Fri (hybrid)? * Are you authorized to work in the United States for this contract duration without sponsorship? * What is your expected hourly rate (W2 or C2C - please specify)? * Do you currently live within 50 miles of Austin area?
