The ideal candidate is a seasoned problem-solver who takes ownership of equipment performance, product quality, and team development while driving efficient, safe production.Why join us?Room for further growthCompetitive pay and benefits (401k, health & dental insurance, PTO, Paid holidays and more)Supportive upper leadershipJob DetailsKey ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & Operation:Set up, operate, and oversee cold heading machines used in the production of high-precision fastenersPerform complete tooling and die setups, including efficient changeovers on single-die, two-blow, and multi-die headersVerify first-piece approvals and conduct routine in-process inspectionsMeasure and inspect parts using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparatorsDiagnose and correct machine, tooling, and process issues to reduce downtime and scrapPerform routine preventive maintenance and support equipment reliability initiativesProduction & Process Oversight:Monitor multiple machines to ensure consistent quality, throughput, and efficiencyAdjust processes to improve cycle times, productivity, and overall equipment performanceMaintain accurate documentation related to production output, inspections, and tooling usageEnsure compliance with work instructions, quality requirements, and safety standardsLeadership & Team Development:Lead and support cold heading operators on the shop floorTrain and mentor operators on setups, tooling, troubleshooting, and best practicesCoordinate workflow and communicate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teamsPromote a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, safety, and qualityQualificationsRequired:Extensive hands-on experience setting up and operating cold heading equipment (multi-die experience strongly preferred)Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently troubleshoot and adjust machineryAbility to read and interpret blueprints, job routers, and technical drawingsProficiency using precision measurement and inspection equipmentSolid understanding of cold forming processes, tooling, and diesAbility to work independently while effectively leading othersHigh school diploma or GEDPreferred:Experience with multi-die header brands commonly used in fastener manufacturingBackground in fastener, aerospace, or high-volume precision component productionWorking knowledge of GD&TPrevious experience training, leading, or supervising production personnelExperience Requirements:Minimum of 15 years of cold heading setup and operational experiencePrior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to take ownership of machine performance, quality outcomes, and team successInterested in hearing more?
