Construction Superintendent/Project Manager
Job Overview
A well-established commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on mechanical and HVAC construction projects within institutional and commercial facilities. Projects include schools, correctional facilities, municipal buildings, and other large commercial sites.
This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader with a strong background in mechanical systems, HVAC installations, and commercial construction, who can manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, and drive projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily field operations on commercial mechanical and HVAC construction projects
Supervise field crews, foremen, and subcontractors across active job sites
Coordinate work sequencing, manpower planning, and site logistics
Enforce safety programs, site policies, and quality standards
Work closely with project managers and engineers to maintain schedules and budgets
Review drawings, specifications, and mechanical plans to ensure accurate execution
Oversee installation of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, equipment, and related mechanical systems
Conduct daily site walks, progress tracking, and field reporting
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and coordination meetings
Proactively identify and resolve field issues to avoid delays
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or senior field leader in commercial mechanical or HVAC construction
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and mechanical installations
Experience managing crews on institutional or large commercial projects (schools, prisons, hospitals, government facilities, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Solid understanding of commercial construction safety standards (OSHA)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Willingness to work onsite and travel locally as required
Preferred Experience
Background with public-sector or institutional projects
Experience coordinating work in occupied or high-security facilities
Familiarity with scheduling tools and daily field reporting
Experience working alongside general contractors and owner representatives
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
