As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will deliver direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical competence and adhering to professional ethical standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to support positive health outcomes.Conduct ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure safety, communicating findings effectively to the healthcare team.Collaborate closely with supervising RNs or Shift Managers to meet all patient care needs.Document all care activities and quality monitoring data accurately to support clinical decisions and compliance.Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to improve their healthcare experience.Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills and knowledge.EducationGraduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required.ExperienceAt least one year of practical nursing experience is preferred.Licenses and CertificationsCurrent LPN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure.Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Physical and Mental RequirementsThis role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, stooping, and twisting. Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is expected, and occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
