Our team partners with clients from design through deployment and beyond, building systems that are practical, reliable, and built to last.Position Overview:We are looking for a skilled and dependable Lead AV Field Technician to take a senior role on our installation crews, supporting AV deployments and UCC rollouts across the country. This is a hands-on technical position ideal for someone who enjoys field work, variety in their day-to-day environment, and the opportunity to travel while working on professional, well-organized project sites.Travel is a core part of this role. When local jobs are not available, the typical rhythm is flying out Monday morning to the project site and flying back Friday afternoon, which keeps weekends at home protected. All travel expenses and per diem are fully covered.Key Responsibilities:The Lead AV Field Technician will perform installation work and lead crews on larger, more complex projects, coordinating and reporting progress to the Project Manager to ensure projects meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include:Install and configure audiovisual systems including displays, projectors, video walls, audio systems (DSPs, microphones, speakers), and video conferencing platforms such as Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams RoomsPerform cable pulls, terminations, and testing for low-voltage cabling including Cat6, fiber optic, and HDMIRack fabrication, equipment mounting, and wiring layoutRead and interpret AV schematics, signal flow diagrams, and architectural blueprintsDemonstrate job site leadership, mentor junior technicians on site, and verify quality of work across the crewTest point-to-point cabling, system functionality, and control and DSP systems, with field loading as neededSupport engineers and programmers with minor on-site programming adjustmentsTrack and secure equipment and tools on the job siteCommunicate daily job site status to the Project Manager and complete required documentationAct as the customer liaison on site, directing change requests to the Project Manager for final confirmationCoordinate with other trades and perform client training as neededRequired Qualifications:3+ years of experience in AV installation, low-voltage work, or a closely related fieldValid and current AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certificationStrong working knowledge of commercial AV systems and componentsProficiency in cable installation, terminations, and basic networking conceptsAbility to read and follow technical drawings and signal flow diagramsDemonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior technicians and manage site teamsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsProficient use of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient mannerExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiencesValid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle recordPreferred Qualifications:Additional AVIXA certifications (CTS-I, CTS-D)Experience with UCC platforms including Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams RoomsKnowledge of AV control systems such as Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYSNetworking fundamentals including IP addressing, VLANs, and PoEOSHA 30-Hour Construction CoursePrior site lead or foreman experienceFormal education in AV, electronics, or a related technical fieldCompensation and Benefits:Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience (55,000-65,000)Full per diem and all travel expenses coveredHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysOpportunities for advancement within a growing companyWhy Join Vivo Technologies:You will work with modern collaboration and AV technologies, join a growing and forward-thinking team, travel to a variety of enterprise project sites across the country on a consistent weekday schedule, and gain experience on high-visibility deployments with room to grow into senior technical and leadership roles.
