Financial Controls Analyst
Financial Control AnalystThe Financial Control Analyst will assist in securities and derivatives operations and will account for multiple domestic and offshore entities as well as multiple investment strategies within those entities. From the outset, this analyst will have the opportunity to gain experience in complex cash and position reconciliations and transaction analysis reported by portfolio managers, traders, brokerage firms, and prime broker accounts. The Financial Control Analyst will work in an open, team-oriented environment, and will interact with several areas of the firm including trading, risk control and business affairs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate quickly and accurately with other members of the team and identify issues/problems and suggest solutions. One of the main things we're looking for in a candidate is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, see how everything comes together in what we're doing, and use that knowledge to improve our processes and create ways to make the Financial Control group more effective.
Skill SetOther qualifications include:
2-5 years of experience
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, engineering or management information systems with minimum GPA of 3.5
Advanced Excel skills and strong general computer skills
Ability to quickly translate complex financial transactions into proper format for financial reporting
Ability to accurately manage and complete multiple tasks
Familiarity with database applications such as VBA, SQL and MS Query is strongly desired but not absolutely required
