This is a physically active, outdoor position that offers stable, full-time employment and the opportunity to be part of an essential service that keeps our communities clean and safe.What You'll Do - SummaryAs a Residential Helper, you will work alongside a Garbage Truck Driver to collect residential trash, recycling, and yard waste along assigned routes.Responsibilities – Essential Job FunctionsCollecting household garbage, recycling, and yard waste from residential customersLifting and loading trash bags, containers, carts, and bulk items into collection vehiclesPushing residential carts to truck tippers for disposalRiding on and safely mounting/dismounting the rear step of the collection truck throughout the dayOperating the truck's packing mechanism when directedAssisting the driver with backing maneuvers by providing ground guidanceCleaning around waste spills and ensuring containers are returned to their proper locationProviding courteous and professional customer service to residentsReporting safety concerns, vehicle issues, or customer service concerns to supervisorsCleaning and washing the truck hopper and work area at the end of the shiftAssisting other routes and crews as neededWorking during emergency response situations when requiredPerforming other duties as assignedOther Job ResponsibilitiesEmployees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro .Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.What We're Looking ForReliable attendance and punctualityAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsStrong work ethic and positive attitudeAbility to work safely in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented mindsetAbility to follow company safety policies and proceduresPrevious labor, landscaping, construction, warehouse, sanitation, moving, or waste industry experience is helpful but not requiredPhysical RequirementsThis position is physically demanding and requires:Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pullingContinuous walking and standing throughout the workdayRepeated climbing on and off collection vehiclesAbility to work in varying weather conditions including heat, rain, wind, and humidityExposure to noise, dust, odors, vibration, and outdoor environmental conditionsWork Environment: Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust.Safety CommitmentEmployees must comply with all Waste Pro safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, ANSI, and Waste Pro Absolute Guidelines.
