Senior Industrial Mechanical Foreman

Job DescriptionAn Industrial Mechanical Foreman in construction, specializing in pipe fitting, steel, and general construction in the Memphis, TN area, is primarily responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of crews and projects. This role blends strong leadership skills with extensive technical expertise in relevant construction fields.Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Management & Supervision: Lead, supervise, and direct the daily activities of pipefitter, steel, and general construction crews. This includes training new members, evaluating performance, and resolving work problems.Project Planning & Scheduling: Organize and plan daily work, coordinate with project managers and other trades, schedule personnel, and ensure alignment with project plans and deadlines.Safety & Compliance: Prioritize and enforce all safety regulations, including OSHA and company-specific policies. Conduct regular site inspections, lead safety meetings, and ensure all team members use appropriate safety equipment.Quality Control: Inspect all work performed by the crew to ensure it meets project specifications, blueprints, applicable codes, and quality standards.Material & Equipment Management: Forecast, order, manage, and track materials, tools, and equipment needed for the job site. Coordinate maintenance and ensure proper operation of heavy equipment.Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and submit essential documentation, including production reports, safety reports, time cards, and project updates.Hands-on Work: Often required to perform hands-on duties related to pipe fitting (layout, assembly, installation of various piping systems), steel erection, or other general construction tasks as needed.Essential Qualifications & SkillsExperience: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a foreman role within commercial or industrial construction is typically required, with hands-on expertise in pipe fitting, mechanical systems, and steel/general construction.Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications is crucial. A working knowledge of rigging, welding, and various power/hand tools is also necessary.Certifications: OSHA 30 certification is often preferred, and a current Journeyman license may be required.Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication skills are essential for managing a team and coordinating with clients and other trades.
