Conduct the hands-on daily visitor center retail and café operations. Works as part of a team to keep the visitor center and all work areas clean and presentable.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide excellent and friendly customer serviceProvide proper serving etiquette during and event Demonstrate basic numeric understanding to open and close cash register, accurately count money, process a sale, collect money and provide correct changeMaintain a clean, well-organized and safe work environmentUnderstand first in, first out rotation to ensure freshness of productsProvide guest direction for self-guided toursKeeps current about Hilmar Cheese Company, Hilmar Ingredients and visitor center catering, tours, cafe and retail information in order to answer customer questionsPlace high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.Preparing food and beverages with required ingredients and equipmentHold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. What You Will NeedHigh School diploma or equivalentMust be able to work weekendsFood Handler Certification (within 30 days of employment) Responsible Beverage Service Certification (within 60 days of employment)Ability to lift up to 50lbsWhat Will Put You AheadPrior restaurant or food service experience Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and OutlookExperience with Point of Sale System Experience with credit card IC Verify programExperience with Fed Ex shipping systemPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentRequiredThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
