The company designs, builds, and services equipment used across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing, with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and American-made manufacturing.Position Summary:The Machine Assembler is responsible for assembling, fitting, and testing mechanical and electromechanical components used in precision machine systems. This role supports AME's production of custom machines, fixtures, and machine tool components by ensuring assemblies meet engineering specifications and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and complete machines using blueprints, schematics, and work instructionsInstall bearings, shafts, gears, motors, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other machine elementsAlign, fit, and adjust parts to meet tolerances and specificationsOperate hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of assembled equipmentIdentify and report defects or inconsistencies; assist in corrective actionsCollaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to resolve assembly issuesMaintain a clean and organized work environment and follow safety proceduresDocument assembly processes and completed work as requiredRequirementsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)4+ years of experience in mechanical or machine assembly in a manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematicsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with precision measurement tools and tolerancesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periodsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with CNC equipment, custom machinery, or machine tool componentsKnowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic, or electrical systemsPrior experience in contract manufacturing or custom machine build environmentsTechnical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, machining, or related fieldKey Competencies:Attention to detail and quality workmanshipTeam collaboration and communicationTime management and ability to meet production deadlinesCommitment to safety and continuous improvementWork Environment:Manufacturing/production floor environmentExposure to machinery, noise, and industrial materialsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) requiredWhy Join AME?Work with a respected U.S.-based manufacturer with over 50 years of innovationOpportunity to build custom, high-precision machineryCollaborative environment focused on engineering excellence and growth
