This role ensures operational excellence across all warehouse activities while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and engagement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Leadership & Performance ManagementLead and oversee all warehouse operations including inbound, putaway, inventory control, picking, packing, dispatch, returns, and fulfilmentOwn daily, weekly, and monthly performance across KPIs including safety, productivity, quality, service, and cost in line with service level agreements.Monitor operational data, identify trends, and take proactive actions to resolve issues and optimise performanceMaintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready warehouse environment People Leadership & CultureLead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse associates to build a high-performing and engaged workforceConduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning sessionsCreate a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement Process Excellence & Continuous ImprovementDevelop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiencyLead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and structured problem-solving techniquesIdentify and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies within warehouse processes Standardise best practices and ensure alignment across teams and, where applicable, multiple sitesOptimise warehouse layout, workflows, and resource utilisation to enhance throughput and scalability Data-Driven Decision Making Analyse operational KPIs and performance data to identify root causes and improvement opportunitiesUse data to support labour planning, forecasting, and cost managementEmbed performance metrics that drive accountability at all levels Safety, Compliance & Quality Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and company standards including safety audits, inspections, and training sessionsEnsure proper handling of all materials, including any high-value goodsInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrenceMaintain high standards of quality and inventory accuracy, including ownership of cycle counts and auditsESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Proven experience leading warehouse or distribution operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentStrong people leadership skills, ability to coach, develop, and engage teamsExperience driving process improvement and Lean methodologiesStrong analytical and data interpretation skills, ability to make informed decisionsExperience in inventory control and operational systems (e.g., WMS, ERP)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and organizational disciplineCore BehaviorsPeople-first leadership – builds trust, develops talent, and fosters engagementProcess discipline – creates structure, consistency, and operational clarityData-led mindset – uses insight to drive performance and decision-makingContinuous improvement focus – constantly seeks better ways of workingSafety ownership – ensures safety is embedded in every actionAccountability & ownership – drives results and holds teams to high standardsThe EOS pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
