Production Systems Engineer

About the Role As a Production Systems Engineer, you will drive operational excellence by designing robust manufacturing processes and advanced tooling solutions. You will leverage your expertise in weld metallurgy, robotics, and process optimization to enhance production efficiency and ensure the highest quality standards across our facility. Responsibilities Design and implement innovative manufacturing tooling and fixturing to streamline production workflows. Optimize manual and robotic welding systems, including the development of WPS and PQR documentation to meet rigorous industry standards. Lead root-cause analysis initiatives to resolve equipment failures and minimize weld defects. Execute time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and implement cost-reduction strategies. Develop and maintain CNC programs for laser, plasma, and press brake equipment to improve output precision. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new machinery and manage end-to-end project lifecycles. Provide technical training and support to production staff to ensure consistent adherence to quality protocols. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. 5-10 years of experience in heavy manufacturing environments. Advanced proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and ERP systems. Deep technical knowledge of weld metallurgy, robotic welding, and process control. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and perform statistical data analysis. Preferred Skills Prior experience with Epicor ERP software. Strong background in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems. Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting. Proven track record in quality control data analysis and inspection methodologies.
