Become a part of our caring communityThe Senior IT Project Manager leads highly complex, enterprise-scale infrastructure and database initiatives supporting strategic organizational priorities. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact programs focused on enterprise security, access governance, and infrastructure cost optimization across production systems.The position requires deep organizational knowledge, strong technical fluency in infrastructure and database environments, and advanced facilitation skills to align senior business and IT stakeholders. Responsibilities involve complex problem-solving where analysis requires evaluation of technical, operational, and business variables. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy in determining strategy, execution approach, and delivery outcomes.Enterprise Program LeadershipLead multiple concurrent, high-priority initiatives involving infrastructure operations, database platforms, and enterprise-wide system controlsOversee programs with significant cross-functional dependencies across business, IT, security, and infrastructure teamsEstablish execution strategy and ensure alignment with organizational objectives to drive measurable outcomesDatabase Security & Access GovernanceLead enterprise initiatives focused on securing production database environments, including large-scale removal of write access and implementation of governance controlsCoordinate with senior business and technical leaders to define scope, assess risks, and ensure successful adoptionProvide executive-level reporting on program progress, risks, and critical milestonesProactively identify and mitigate risks to minimize impact on business operationsInfrastructure Optimization & Cost ManagementLead initiatives to optimize CPU, memory, and storage utilization across databases and server environmentsDrive right-sizing strategies to improve performance, reduce cost, and avoid future infrastructure spendTranslate technical recommendations into business-oriented outcomes to support executive decision-makingDevelop contingency strategies to ensure operational continuity and resilienceStakeholder Engagement & FacilitationServe as a trusted facilitator for senior leaders, engineering teams, and business partnersLead discussions across diverse stakeholders with competing priorities to drive alignment and decisionsMaintain a structured cadence of governance and execution meetings with clear accountability and outcomesExecution & Delivery OversightAssemble and lead cross-functional project teams and define detailed project plans and schedulesManage risks, dependencies, and action items to ensure successful deliveryApply project management frameworks (e.g., SDLC, ITIL) to address risks and ensure quality deliveryOperate independently with significant latitude in determining methods and approachesChange Management & AdoptionDrive enterprise-wide adoption of initiatives that impact large user populations and critical system accessAlign technical changes with business readiness, communication, and training strategiesEnsure sustainable implementation of changes through stakeholder engagement and follow-throughRequired QualificationsUse your skills to make an impact Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or a related field5 or more years of progressive experience in IT project/program managementDemonstrated experience leading large-scale infrastructure, database, or access governance initiativesProven success managing complex programs involving senior leadership and cross-functional teamsStrong ability to translate technical information into business outcomesExcellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working within large, matrixed enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with infrastructure operations, database technologies, and enterprise access controlsExperience delivering high-impact, risk-sensitive initiatives affecting large user populationsBackground in enterprise security, compliance, or governance programs, Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute (PMI) certificationTravel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.Scheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$104,000 - $143,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
