Job Title: Phlebotomist II Location: Leland, NC 28451 Duration: 5 Months of contract (temp to hire) Shift/Time: Mon - Fri 8:00AM - 5:00PM Job Description: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients visiting the facility for routine health services or critical medical testing. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while strictly following established procedures. The PSR II interacts directly with patients, creating a professional and trusting environment while explaining procedures and performing blood draws safely, accurately, and efficiently. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality, ensuring accuracy of patient information, and demonstrating strong leadership behaviors and process excellence. Assignments may include working in a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations depending on business needs. Key Responsibilities:Perform daily activities accurately and within required timelines under the supervision of the area supervisor.Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for patients and staff.Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures.Draw blood samples using proper venipuncture and capillary techniques.Verify patient demographic information and identity before specimen collection.Obtain patient initials and signature after venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and correctly.Maintain required documentation and records.Promote a positive and professional image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Job Requirements:Ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.Commitment to company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety guidelines.Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment.Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).Ability to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice.Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-volume settings.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively with teams.Basic keyboard and data entry skills. Education Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic (Preferred)Phlebotomy certification (Preferred)Required in California, Nevada, and Washington Work Experience:1–3 years of phlebotomy experience requiredIncluding pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)Customer service experience in retail or service environments (Highly preferred)Experience with data entry and computer systems
