Aviation Technical Writer / Instructional DesignerAvstar LLC - Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (Remote) Job Type: Full-Time Are you a pilot with a knack for explaining complex aviation topics? Join Avstar LLC, a leader in online training, and help us create the next generation of courseware for aviation professionals! We are looking for a talented Aviation Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME), transforming technical data from OEM and FAA publications into engaging online lessons for pilots operating under CFR Part 135. This is a fully remote position. What You'll Do:Develop detailed storyboards for online training lessons.Create and update pilot training content based on client-specific manuals and regulations.Translate complex FAA regulations into clear, easy-to-understand guidance.Collaborate with our graphic artists and content developers to create an exceptional user experience.Stay current on the latest requirements and challenges within the Part 135 environment. What You'll Need:Aviation Credentials: You must have a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with an instrument rating or an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate. A CFI is a big plus!Technical Know-How: A strong understanding of general aviation aircraft systems (both helicopter and airplane experience is highly desirable). Regulatory Familiarity: Experience with OEM manuals, FAA regulations, and flight operations.Great Communication Skills: The ability to simplify and explain aviation concepts and aircraft systems and procedures. Note: Pilot currency and an active FAA medical certificate are NOT required. Bonus Points For:An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.Experience with Bell and Airbus helicopters.Familiarity with Textron Aviation (Beechcraft) airplanes.
