Mechanical Design Engineer

Come join us and be part of a dynamic team that’s transforming the industrial and automotive industries while shaping the future of mobility!What You will DoCreate 3D mechanical assemblies and 2D detail drawings following corporate standards, general machine specifications and Automation group guidelines.Maintain accurate Bill of Materials for automation designs in Microsoft excel.Ability to specify purchased components, quote, procure, plan for build/installation, troubleshooting and shipping for production automation processes.Communicate with vendors to quote, procure, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.Work closely with controls engineers and mechanical builders to solve issuesMaintain accurate drawings after modifications (red marks and revision level)Perform engineering calculations and/or solidworks FEA when required.Conduct design reviews with customers, answering their questions and concerns.Ability to work diligently toward project timelines and budgets.Ability to be “Hands on” with automation projects when required.Concept, quote, procure, and implement solutions to various assembly and transformational product processes.Design flexible assembly solutions following corporate standards, general machine specifications and guidelinesResearch and prove out innovative ways to improve processes making them more efficient and flexibleIncorporate industry’s best practices and lessons learned into all designsWork Requirements:Knowledge and SkillsExcellent problem solving and decision-making skillsStrong Mechanical aptitudeBlueprint reading skills & familiarity with GD&TKnowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics/ prints and how these systems interactAbility to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervisionUnderstanding and communicating technical detailsSoftware Experience: ProficientAutoCADSolidWorks (modeling, assembly, detailing)MS Office SuiteEducationMechanical Engineering or related field/experienceExperienceMinimum of 2 years’ experience in designing automation equipment What’s In It For YouWe create a supportive environment where employees thrive!
