Advance Practice Provider Pain Management

With offices across North Carolina the Physician Assistant or NP role is trained and licensed to assist the supervising physician by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, collecting and organizing historical and physical data, and exercising a degree of independent judgment in determining appropriate treatments and dispositions. The PA/NP is responsible for written documentation of all clinical interactions in the patient's chart. Requirements Qualifications and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited PA or NP programPhysician Assistant license requiredMedical training from an approved programAt least two years of experience as a Physician AssistantGood knowledge of medical office software such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, and medical practice softwareFamiliarity with EMR programsKnowledge of medical terminologyExcellent communication skillsExcellent documentation skills Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the followingPatient evaluation by performing appropriate history and physical examsOrdering laboratory, radiological and special studiesPerforming diagnostic procedures such as, but not limited to, physical examination, phlebotomy, catheterization, joint injections and aspirations and administering of vaccinesPerforming therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, suturing of wounds, foreign body removal, I&D of abscesses, reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injectionsAssisting the surgeon in the OR as designatedReading and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory reportsInitiation of life-saving measures as neededDiagnosing and treating minor illnesses of employees of EmergeOrtho, P.A.Telephone contact with patients as appropriate. OtherInvolvement in QI and research programs.Attendance at educational and department meetings.Intermittent OR, UC, and other clinic coverage required.
