Job DescriptionVascular SurgeonPosition SummaryThe Vascular Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical and endovascular care for patients with diseases of the arterial, venous, and lymphatic systems. This role includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of complex vascular conditions using both open and minimally invasive techniques, with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and manage patients with arterial, venous, and lymphatic vascular diseasePerform open and endovascular surgical procedures within scope of practiceManage conditions such as peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, aortic aneurysms, and venous disordersProvide emergency and elective vascular surgical careInterpret diagnostic imaging, noninvasive vascular studies, and test resultsDevelop and implement individualized treatment and surgical plansProvide inpatient care, outpatient clinic services, and consultative coverageParticipate in call coverage for vascular surgery servicesCollaborate with interventional radiology, cardiology, primary care, and surgical teamsEducate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and postoperative careMaintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and surgical outcomes initiativesPractice SettingHospital-based surgical practice with outpatient clinicOperating room, endovascular suite, and vascular laboratory environmentsSchedule and call responsibilities based on practice modelPatient PopulationAdult patients with acute and chronic vascular conditionsElective and emergent surgical casesQualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Vascular Surgery residency or fellowshipBoard certified or board eligible in Vascular SurgeryEligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing stateDEA registration or eligibilitySkills & CompetenciesAdvanced expertise in open and endovascular vascular surgeryStrong clinical judgment and operative decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilitiesCommitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practiceAbility to manage high-acuity surgical patientsWork EnvironmentSurgical and outpatient clinical settingsMultidisciplinary, team-based care modelFocus on complex care delivery and procedural excellence
