Senior Payroll Tax AnalystThis is an onsite position at our Corporate office in Goose Creek, SC. Overview:The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for analyzing, supporting all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state and federal regulations, audits, data validation, interpretation of specifications, and filing of payroll tax returns. This position partners with the Third Party Provider (TPP) ADP Account Manager, Finance Ops Manager and IT department to ensure filing of quarterly/annual returns including W2, W2c, 941/940 transmission to the appropriate agencies for a multiple-unit organization. Provides support for, and helps resolve new registrations, notices, ensuring payroll tax accuracy WebC and ADP payroll systems and federal, state and local agency sites.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responds to inquiries and special requests from temporary employees, franchisees, and regulatory agencies related to payroll taxesResearch, document and test new payroll tax laws and regulations and provide management with compliance recommendationsRegularly analyze large datasets to reconcile accounts, identify variances, and resolve underlying issues through root-cause research between WebC, ADP and agencies sitesEnsure accurate and timely filing of federal tax payments, including estimated payments to the IRS and other state jurisdictionsReviews all state tax payments and filings, prepares quarterly Form 941 and annual Form 940 reconciliations and filings, and monitors federal tax payments posted by ADP on a daily and weekly basisPartner with the Fiance Ops Manager, Controller, IT and staff to improve, streamline, and document payroll tax processesMaintenance of rates, frequencies and other settings in ADP, WebC and other systems if neededReview ADP timely transmission of W2, W2c, Wage Uploads, and Amendments to appropriate agenciesReview and aprrove ADP filing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual local, state withholding, paid family leave, combined returns, including unemployment filingsWeekly/Quarterly audits to ensure accuracy of multiple payroll systems (WebC & ADP)Utilize analytical skills to document and resolve outstanding issues, prepare reports, reconciliations and forms necessary for management and external agencies, and maintain payroll tax team’s compliance with SOX audits and controlsShares in-depth knowledge of U.S. government regulations and payroll tax requirements to test, train, and support legislative changesInvestigate and resolve tax notices in a timely manner to minimize the risk of potential interest and penaltiesEducation and Experience Bachelor's degree in finance and/or related field; or 2-4 years high-volume payroll tax experience dealing with large volumes of data; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge of international taxes a plusProven analytical, planning, problem solving and influencing skillsStrong process enhancement, training, reconciling, and documentation experiencePrefer experience with ADP Smart Compliance Payroll Tax Prefer Advanced Excel knowledge and experience with Vlookups, Pivot Tables, etc.Core Knowledge and SkillsIntermediate Microsoft Excel and strong math skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsRelated experience in a multi-unit, multi-state, multi-system organizationAbility to participate in multiple complex projects independently and meet strict deadlines under pressureInnovation/Renovation-willingness to change and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignmentsAbility to work with minimal supervision.
