Urology Coder (Part-Time, Temporary)Location: Remote (DMV-area candidates required)Pay Rate: $40/hourSchedule: Approximately 19 hours per week | Flexible schedule with a preference for availability during standard business hoursDuration: Temporary assignment through the end of the year (estimated)Our staffing agency is seeking an experienced Urology Coder to support a leading healthcare organization on a part-time, temporary basis. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a certified coding professional with expertise in urology coding and reimbursement who enjoys a combination of coding research, reimbursement support, and project-based work.This role will help manage coding inquiries, support reimbursement initiatives, and provide technical expertise during a high-volume period.Key ResponsibilitiesCoding & Reimbursement SupportResearch and respond to coding and reimbursement questions from healthcare providers and practice managers.Identify and track recurring coding trends and reimbursement issues.Provide expert coding guidance during industry meetings and events as needed.Serve as a technical resource on urology coding, billing, claims, and reimbursement topics.CPT & Reimbursement ProjectsAssist with preparation and follow-up for CPT and reimbursement-related initiatives.Support coding documentation, code change applications, and survey materials.Analyze survey results and large datasets to support reimbursement recommendations.Prepare background research and supporting documentation for coding workgroups and strategic initiatives.Payment Policy & Insurance SupportResearch payer policies, coverage guidelines, and reimbursement issues.Provide technical support related to insurance coverage and payment policies.Assist with coding and reimbursement strategy projects.Administrative SupportMonitor and manage coding and payment policy inquiries.Maintain project trackers and assist with follow-up on ongoing initiatives.Support practice management questions related to coding, billing, and claims processing.QualificationsCPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required.Strong experience in medical coding and reimbursement.Urology coding experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of CPT coding and reimbursement processes.Experience researching coding guidelines and payer policies.Ability to analyze and work with large datasets.Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Experience with specialty medical societies, Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) policies, or Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) is a plus.SkillsCPT coding research and analysisMedical reimbursement and payer policy knowledgeTechnical writing and documentationStrong project coordination skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationAdvanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skillsAbility to quickly learn new systems and technologiesAbility to handle confidential information with professionalism
