Technical Supervisor

Description:Job Summary:The Technical Supervisor provides direction and oversight across engineering, quoting and quality functions in our manufacturing division. This position is responsible for ensuring technical accuracy, driving consistency and leading cross-functional alignment to meet customer and business objectives. The Technical Lead will act as a subject matter expert, mentor team members, and guide decision-making rather than performing all day-to-day tasks.Supervisory Responsibilities:Assists Plant Manager with hiring and training of new employees.Schedules and oversees engineering, quoting and quality employeesConducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.Key Responsibilities:Technical LeadershipProvide guidance on interpreting customer drawings and specificationsOversee design approaches, material selection, and manufacturing methodsEnsure consistency and accuracy in job instructions and technical documentationServe as the primary technical resource for complex or high-risk projectsQuoting OversightSupport the quoting team in validating manufacturability and cost assumptionsReview and approve complex or high-value quotesEnsure alignment between engineering designs and quoted costsDrive improvements in quoting accuracy and turnaround timeQuality LeadershipOversee quality processes, including inspections and NCR handlingGuide root cause analysis and corrective action strategiesEnsure compliance with internal and external audit requirementsMonitor quality trends and lead continuous improvement initiativesTeam & Process LeadershipMentor and support engineering, quoting, and quality team membersEstablish best practices, standards, and workflowsDrive cross-functional communication and collaborationIdentify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and process improvement Requirements: Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strategic thinking and decision-makingProblem-solving and root cause analysisAbility to balance technical detail with big-picture oversightEducation and Experience:3-5 years in technical leadership or senior engineering roleBachelors degree in engineering or equivalent educationStrong background in manufacturing (die cutting preferred)Proficiency in CAD and understanding of cost estimation processesKnowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies ( ISO9001:2015 )Physical Requirements:Involves working in a manufacturing plant with exposure to loud noises and machinery.Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting materials weighing up to 50 poundsBenefits:Zatkoff Seals & Packings offers all full-time employees a full-benefit package, including:Paid Time OffPaid HolidaysMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceGroup Life InsuranceAccidental Death and Dismemberment insuranceLong-Term Disability InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramAdditional Information:Zatkoff is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
