Maintenance Mechanic
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and electrical systems in the production plant.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and maintenance as necessary to keep production at target efficiencies.
Dismantle defective machines and equipment to install new or repaired parts.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and repair production and plant equipment.
Work with production supervisors/ leads on continuous improvement initiatives to solve problems on all equipment.
Assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Implement projects for line improvements.
Electrical conduit bonding and installation.
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
Required Skills / Abilities:
3+ years of experience performing the following:
Preventative maintenance, repair, and adjustment of material handling and extrusion machines.
Maintenance experience in a food production environment.
Technical knowledge of production-related equipment.
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals (mechanical and electrical).
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to fabricate parts a plus.
Knowledge of machinist's measuring tools a plus.
Motor drive and PLC experience are a plus.
Knowledge of refrigeration is a plus.
Able to lift, move and carry up to 50 lbs.
High School diploma, GED, vocational school, or related experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
