Assignment Dates:April 3, 2026 December 13, 2026Schedule & Coverage Details:Weekend Coverage: Friday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AMProvider will round onsite each morning to evaluate and manage patientsOnsite call during daytime hours and after-hours call as neededRarely required to return onsite after hoursCoverage Type: Onsite with call Practice Setting Setting: InpatientUnit Bed Count: 20 (includes ICU/CCU beds)Average Unit Census: patientsAverage Weekend Patient Volume: 5 patients/dayPatient Population:General population with a high burden of elderly patientsCommon comorbidities include smoking, alcohol use, diabetes, and hypertensionOccasional VA patient population Clinical Responsibilities General inpatient cardiology coverageTypical cases include:Atrial fibrillationRapid ventricular response (RVR)Coronary heart disease and related cardiology conditionsRounds Required: Yes (typically 2 4 hours)Admits: Rare (hospitalist team usually handles admissions)Sole Provider: Yes, for general cardiologyInterventional cardiology patients managed by interventional cardiology team Support & Resources Interventional cardiology coverage available 24/7Echo technician available 24/7Support staff includes:Echo servicesEKG servicesIntensivist coverage: Available as noted above Required Qualifications Degree: MD or DOBoard Certification: RequiredSpecialty Training:Cardiology requiredFamily Practice or Internal Medicine trained physicians not acceptedRequired Certifications:BLS or ACLSATLSDEA CertificateLicensure:Active Kentucky license strongly preferred due to April start date and lengthy onboarding process for new licenses Required Clinical Experience Experience in management and treatment of:Coronary artery diseaseIschemic heart diseasePericardial diseaseCardiomyopathiesEndocarditisDysrhythmiasValvular heart diseaseAdult congenital heart diseaseDisorders of veins, arteries, and pulmonary circulation Rate will also have call back rate
