Field Safety Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by implementing and managing safety protocols and compliance with regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental health and safety (EHS) practices, OSHA regulations, and construction management principles.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections on construction sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide training to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety management into construction planning and execution.
- Monitor workers' compensation claims and assist in the investigation of incidents to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and compliance audits.
- Stay updated on changes in EHS regulations, NEC codes, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience in a safety role within the construction industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance management, occupational health standards, and workers' compensation processes.
- Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing risks and developing effective safety solutions.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on building a culture of safety within the organization.
Pay and Benefits
Starting at $60,000 - $65,000 per year depending on experience.
