COME CREATE IMPACT WITH USDowntown Streets Team (DST) is looking for a passionate and outgoing Bilingual (English/Spanish) Case Manager in Redwood City to help us end homelessness through the dignity of work and the power of community. We run two proven programs in 16 cities that successfully transition the unhoused to self-sufficiency.SummaryWe're looking for a full-time Bilingual Case Manager to work directly with individuals experiencing homelessness to help them navigate social services and reduce barriers to self-sufficiency. This may include helping Team Members (our unhoused clients) access shelter, employment, housing, medical, legal, financial services, and other goals. You'll need strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and people skills while managing priorities and workflow.What You'll DoHelp Our Team Members Achieve Self-SufficiencyProvide compassionate support and assistance to each Team Member to achieve their goals on housing, jobs, transportation, health, and legal issuesWork with Team Members to develop job search collateral, run employment readiness workshops, and employment-focused volunteer pairing eventsDevelop housing and employment leads with local landlords, property managers and employersUtilize any available subsidies and affordable housing units to place Team Members into housingMaintain regular appointments and office hours with Team Members and staffPresent new services and opportunities to the entire Team at designated Case Management sections in weekly Success Team MeetingsSupport Team Members in court, at housing related appointments, social service agencies, etc. This may include providing them with transportation for Team MembersEstablish productive relationships with each and every Team Member with no bias or prejudice towards race, religion, age, sex, disability, or sexual preferenceWork Well With Others in DST & the CommunityWork with the Project Manager to promote successful participation in the work experience programActively document client meetings and update all relevant program data in applicable databases such as ClarityUphold organizational values, work ethically and with integrity, and follow company policies as laid out in the employee handbookRepresent DST in the community, and work with all partner organizations to achieve client goalsDistribute outreach supplies to individuals in encampments, RVs, and on the streets, and promote participation in the work experience programActively learn about current resources and services outside of DST that may aid Team Members in their goalsPerform other duties as assigned by manager and assist with special projects as requiredSupporting Team Members in Redwood City with Case Management, Success Meetings and during Stipend Distribution.What You'll NeedAbility to perform job duties with minimal supervisionExcellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken EnglishBilingual in English and SpanishBasic mathematical calculationsProblem solving and observation skillsSelf-starter with strong organizational skills with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage timeWorks well with others and behaves professionally and ethicallySolution-orientedAbility to work in a changing environmentHigh school diploma/GEDValid CA Driver License, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the local areaCOVID vaccination or valid religious/medical exemptionPhysical requirements: sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time and pushing, pulling and/or lifting up to 25 lbs.What We Can Offer YouA chance to positively impact your community on one of the biggest domestic challenges of the dayCompetitive nonprofit compensationAnnual company cost-of-living increaseUp to 90% employer paid medical coverage, and fully paid dental, vision and life insurance coverage for employees, with FSA and HSA health plans available401k with up to 6% company match, after one year15 days off PTO, increasing with tenureOver 10 paid holidays annuallyPaid company closure for five days during the summerPaid company closure between Christmas and New YearDay off on your birthdayOne month paid sabbatical after five years, not charging PTOInternal growth opportunitiesAccess to professional development resources and reimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Commitment to DiversityWe thrive as an organization when unique identities, experiences & perspectives are represented.
