Air Medical Communication Specialist

**Job Summary and Responsibilities**As our Air Medical Communication Specialist, you will dispatch all transport activity. You will also serve as the general communicator for our Flight For Life program, keeping staff informed of all activity and transport requests.Every day, you will maintain the Flight For Life database and coordinate transfer center activity. This involves meticulous organization, swift communication, and a calm demeanor under pressure to ensure seamless and efficient air medical transport operations, directly contributing to critical patient care.To be successful in your role, you will meticulously dispatch all air medical transport activities, ensuring seamless coordination and critical information dissemination for Flight For Life operations. You will demonstrate exceptional proficiency in managing urgent communications, maintaining comprehensive databases, and overseeing transfer center activities with precision and a calm demeanor, thereby safeguarding operational efficiency and patient safety.**Job Requirements****Required**+ International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialists (IAMTCS) CFC Course Completion within 18 months of employment+ HS/GED+ Experience in EMS-related field or dispatching experience for a public service agency (i.e. Air, Medical, Fire, Police, or EMS)+ Excellent computer skills; customer service skills; navigational and medical terminology knowledge; able to multi-task; map reading+ Demonstrates knowledge of FCC Rules and Regulations for communication system in use+ Demonstrates ability to accurately operate and file information into mapping software, patch-matrix, and Flight For Life communication center database+ Provides excellent customer service via phone and radio technology with requesting agencies and referring facilities**Physical Requirements**Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)**Preferred**+ Emergency Medical Technician Credential**Where You'll Work**With more than 700 care sites across the U.S. from clinics and hospitals to home-based care and virtual care services CommonSpirit is accessible to nearly one out of every four U.S. residents.
