We specialize in offering a wide range of kitchen, entertaining, decor and furniture items that cater to various styles and preferences, ensuring our customers find exactly what they need to make their homes joyful and stylish.Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. This position partners cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, accounts are reconciled timely, and financial information is complete and reliable. The role supports a variety of accounting functions including general ledger activity, vendor and expense processing, account analysis, and process improvement initiatives.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)Prepare, review, and post accounting transactions to ensure accurate financial recordsAssist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliationsReview and process invoices, payment requests, and employee expense activity in accordance with company policiesMaintain accurate vendor and financial records within the ERP systemResearch and resolve discrepancies related to account balances, transactions, and supporting documentationAssist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for audits, tax filings, and financial reportingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate approvals and financial processingAnalyze financial data and account activity to identify variances, trends, and areas requiring follow-upHelp maintain internal controls and support compliance with company policies and accounting proceduresIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency within accounting operationsProvide support for ad hoc reporting, special projects, and other accounting duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities:This position does not have any supervisory responsibilitiesQualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in general accounting, corporate accounting, or related functionsExperience in general accounting, account reconciliation, month-end close, and financial reporting preferredExperience working with ERP systems; NetSuite preferredHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilitiesSpecial Requirements: Occasional travel to our Aurora, NY headquarters Location: Fully remote (occasional travel to Aurora, NY headquarters may be required)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliationAbility to work independently, solve problems, and meet deadlinesStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial systemsEquipment Used:Computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, scanner, adding machine and calculatorPhysical and Mental Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wristsLight mental and visual attention required for performing work where there is some variety, but actions taken, and decisions made are limited to few possibilities.
