Legal Billing Manager

Our client is looking for a seasoned Legal Billing Manager to lead their billing operations, ensuring bills are prepared accurately and delivered promptly. This role includes supervising a team of billing coordinators, providing training and guidance, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The position also involves performing some billing tasks. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $125,000 to $140,000 per year.Responsibilities:Lead and develop billing coordinators, including training, assigning work, evaluating performance, hiring, disciplining, and terminating as necessary.Ensure time entries are completed and released by timekeepers according to the monthly schedule.Oversee the billing workflow, including the timely distribution of prebills and ensuring billing attorneys return edited prebills on time.Ensure final bills are delivered to clients and posted without delay.Set up and maintain third-party billing accounts, communicate billing guidelines, and ensure compliance.Manage the appeal process for rejected invoices with third-party billing accounts and keep stakeholders informed.Ensure billing software (LMS) is configured correctly for third-party accounts.Coordinate back-up support for client matter intakes.Oversee the annual billing rate increase project and update billing software before year-end.Requirements: Proficiency in MS Office/Office 365, including Teams, Document Management, and PDF programs.High ethical standards and strict confidentiality.Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.Results-driven with the ability to set and meet priorities.Strong project management skills.Excellent problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and vendors.Commitment to quality work, customer service, and teamwork.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
