Job Description Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of WordPerfectKnowledge of Word/Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of Case Management SoftwareProviding paralegal support for two or more attorneys Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely fashion Managing/meeting deadlinesFlexible/detail-orientedThe workers' compensation paralegal position may involve some or all of the following duties:Receipt and preparation of new casesInitial file organization, including docketing of initial case & client deadlines in Orion and OutlookUse of the case management system FileVineRecord daily time entry into OrionPrepare discovery requests and receipt of responses from opposing counselPrepare and update Case List summariesScanning and filing of discovery, pleadings, and other file materials (including medical records)Scheduling of depositions and mediations and preparation of noticesPerform online research, including criminal records/background checksPrepare documents for production pursuant to discovery requestsCalendar hearings, depositions, mediations, Pre-Trial agreements, discovery, and other deadlines - many received from the ICMS systemDaily review of the calendar regarding deadlines with the attorneyWeekly case list review meetings with the attorneyPrepare Stipulations, Release, and AffidavitsPrepare witness/exhibit lists, subpoenas, and contact witnessesAny other tasks that may be assigned by Management or Supervising AttorneysCompany DescriptionLevy, Sibley, Foreman & Speir, LLC is a law firm that routinely represents insurers and employers/businesses of all sizes in civil litigation and workers' compensation defense.Company DescriptionLevy, Sibley, Foreman & Speir, LLC is a law firm that routinely represents insurers and employers/businesses of all sizes in civil litigation and workers' compensation defense.
