Software Development Engineer, APM Insights
Overview
As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll shape the user-facing AI-powered insights platform for the APM team. You’ll collaborate with SDEs and DEs to craft intuitive front ends that make AI outputs accessible and trustworthy. Expect fast-paced, 0-to-1 development, owning frontend architecture and delivering engaging dashboards, conversational UIs, and autonomous-agent interactions. This role offers impact at scale, directly influencing how 600+ APM users experience our products.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and build production frontend experiences for AI-powered insights (conversational agents, metric dashboards, monitoring interfaces)Own frontend architecture decisions including component design, state management, performance, and accessibilityCreate rich data visualization components (e.g., supply funnel analytics, cross-publisher views)Implement conversational UI patterns with AI agents, confidence indicators, source attribution, and feedback mechanismsCollaborate on API contract design to ensure efficient data fetching and responsive UXInstrument frontend telemetry to track usage, flows, and error ratesValidate experiences against accessibility standards and scalability requirements
Key requirements3+ years designing and developing large-scale software applications/tools/systems in C#, C++, Java, or PerlBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field3+ years of professional frontend development experienceExperience visualizing data in Tableau or similar toolsUnderstanding of web performance fundamentals (bundling, lazy loading, rendering pipelines, network efficiency)Familiarity with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL for client-server communicationcollaborative mindsetstrong communicationproblem-solving orientationFront-end development experienceData visualization skills (Tableau or similar)Web performance and optimization
