Data Science EngineerLocation: Springfield, VA, USJob ID: ATR 18054Job DescriptionJob Title: Data Science EngineerJob Location: Springfield, VACompensation: $180,000 - $200,000Eligibility/Clearance: Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearanceand be willing to obtain a CI PolygraphJob Description:We are seeking a Data Science Analyst/Engineer to join our Programworking with the Data Engineering Team responsible for integrating newData Stores and building the Metadata Application Profile (MAP) thataligns attributes from various Data Stores into a Search & RetrievalSystem, enabling discovery of imagery and data for analysis.This position focuses on metadata maintenance activities for theintegration of metadata between systems and the associated API to enablediscovery of data across the Enterprise and the Intelligence Community.Role OverviewWork closely with the Lead Data Engineer to build and maintain theMAP, assess metadata quality, plan and coordinate metadataenhancement and remediation.Determine/monitor MAP accuracy by conducting queries against dataholdings in native systems and using the System User Interface (UI),API, Postgres and Elasticsearch database applications.Support Systems Engineers and Software Developers by creating designdocuments for new Data Stores which identify the metadata fields,service specifications, volumetrics and standards needed tointegrate into the Search and Discovery System.Maintain an ongoing working relationship with government datastewards and system Data Store owners to inform end-usersatisfaction and to keep abreast of attribute changes.Investigate and respond to tickets/issues associated with metadatadiscrepancies or mapping.Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements:At least 5 years of experience with data management,transformation, visualization, analysis, metadata standards, andorganization techniques and tools.At least 5 years of experience with search tools, search resultsorganization and the implications of metadata organization, indexingand catalog content.Bachelor's degree in systems Engineering or in related technical orscientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics,operations research, engineering management, Computer Science,Information Technology, Business, Management Information Systems, orrelated STEM degree program, or an additional 4 years of relateddata/systems engineering experience.MS Degree and 10+ years of relevant experienceExcellent communication, analytical, problem solving, andorganizational skills with the ability to present information andideas clearly and concisely.Strong technical skills, interest in technology, and the ability totroubleshoot simple technology problems, failures, or deficiencies.Excellent skills with Microsoft office tools (Excel, PowerPoint,Notepad++)Certifications: Security +, Network+, or A+ are preferred.
