Director, Internal AuditThe Director of Internal Audit leads the organization’s internal audit function, overseeing the development and execution of a risk-based audit plan to evaluate and strengthen internal controls, operational effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with the Audit Committee, senior management, and external auditors and plays a key role in assessing internal control over financial reporting, the IT control environment, and enterprise risk management processes.What you will do:Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and enterprise risk assessmentOversee the SOX compliance program, including scoping, documentation, testing, and coordination with external auditorsReview key business processes across accounting, treasury, acquisitions, development, lease administration, and other corporate functions, as appropriateCommunicate audit findings, control deficiencies, and remediation progress to senior leadership and the Audit Committee through written reports and presentationsMonitor emerging risks and evolving business priorities to adjust audit coverage and focus accordinglyCoordinate with external auditors to promote efficient reliance and minimize duplication of effortsDrive continuous improvement in the audit function through analytics, automation, and leading practicesSupport special projects, investigations, and strategic initiatives as requested by the Audit Committee or senior leadershipOversee the evaluation of IT General Controls and application controls, partnering with IT leadership to strengthen control design and effectivenessWho you are: 7+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, public accounting, or related roles requiredCPA required; public accounting experience strongly preferredExperience leading or supporting SOX compliance programs, including a strong understanding of the COSO frameworkFamiliarity with IT General Controls and application controls preferredExperience interacting with senior leadership, external auditors, and audit committees preferredStrong communication, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholdersClear, logical, and persuasive writing skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilityStrong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesAbility to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across functionsDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive matters with professionalismWhy Agree Realty?Agree Realty Corporation (NYSE: ADC) is a high-growth Real Estate Investment Trust based in Royal Oak, MI.
